Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using PcapHub, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use PcapHub. We may update these terms from time to time — continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Account Responsibilities

• You must provide accurate information when registering
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials
• One account per person — do not create multiple accounts
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
• You must be at least 13 years old to use PcapHub
• Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account

Acceptable Use

PcapHub is a platform for legitimate network analysis, research, education, and collaboration. The following rules are critical to maintaining a safe and legal platform.

You must:

• Have legal authority to upload any PCAP file. You must own the network you captured from, or have explicit permission from the network owner to capture and share that traffic.
• Take responsibility for PII in your uploads. PcapHub provides a PII detection feature as an assistive tool, but it is not a guarantee. You are ultimately responsible for reviewing your captures and ensuring you are not exposing private data that you should not be sharing.

You must not:

• Upload captures from networks you do not own or have permission to capture from
• Upload captures specifically to expose someone's private data, credentials, personal communications, or other sensitive information
• Upload malware samples with the intent to distribute them to others. Uploading captures containing malware traffic for analysis and research purposes is fine.
• Scrape, automated mass-download, or abuse the API beyond its intended use
• Impersonate other users or entities
• Attempt to circumvent rate limits, access controls, or security measures
• Use the platform for any illegal activity

Content Ownership

You retain all rights to the content you upload to PcapHub. By uploading content, you grant PcapHub a non-exclusive, worldwide license to store, process, serve, and display your content as necessary to provide the service. This includes generating metadata, protocol analysis, search indexes, and thumbnails.

This license exists solely to operate the platform. We will not sell your content or use it for purposes unrelated to PcapHub.

Community Guidelines

PcapHub is a collaborative platform. To keep it useful and welcoming for everyone, please follow these guidelines when commenting and interacting with others:

• Be respectful and constructive — critique ideas, not people. Keep discussions focused and helpful.
• No harassment, threats, or personal attacks — this includes intimidation, bullying, or any form of targeted hostility.
• No spam or excessive self-promotion — keep comments relevant to the capture or discussion at hand.
• No sharing of personal information (doxxing)— never post someone's real name, address, phone number, IP address, or other identifying information without their consent.
• No hate speech, slurs, or discriminatory language — content targeting individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or disability will be removed.
• Automated moderation is in effect — comments are automatically screened for violations. Repeated violations may result in account suspension.
• Report inappropriate content — use the Report button on any comment to flag it for review.

Content Moderation

We reserve the right to remove any content and disable or terminate any account at our discretion, particularly if we believe content or behaviour violates these terms, applicable law, or poses a risk to other users or the platform.

We are not obligated to monitor all content, but we may review content that is reported or flagged.

Service Availability

PcapHub is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service at any time without notice.

We will make reasonable efforts to maintain uptime and notify users of planned maintenance, but we make no uptime guarantees.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PcapHub and its operators shall not be liable for:

• Loss of data, including uploaded PCAP files
• Security breaches affecting uploaded content
• Unauthorized access to your account
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Any loss of profits, revenue, or data arising from your use of the service

You use PcapHub at your own risk. You are responsible for maintaining backups of any important data you upload.

Content Reporting & Takedowns

If you believe content on PcapHub violates these terms, applicable law, or your rights, you may report it using either of the following methods:

• Use the Report button on any capture page
• Email us at [email protected]

Our review process:

• We will review all reports within 48 hours of receipt
• We may remove content and/or disable accounts at our sole discretion if we determine a violation has occurred
• We will make reasonable efforts to notify affected users of any action taken

Counter-notices:

If you believe your content was incorrectly removed, you may submit a counter-notice by emailing [email protected] with a description of the content, why you believe the removal was in error, and your contact information. We will review counter-notices and may restore content if appropriate.

Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You can delete your account through your account settings or by contacting us. We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms.

Upon account deletion, your data — including all uploaded PCAP files, account information, and associated metadata — will be permanently deleted.

Governing Law

These terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these terms or your use of PcapHub shall be resolved under the applicable jurisdiction.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective date" at the top of this page. Continued use of PcapHub after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. For significant changes, we may notify users via email or an in-app notice.
